At the centre of its winter programming is its Holiday event Winter Lights, a month-long experience featuring over 200,000 Christmas lights, bonfires, themed evenings, and visits from Santa Claus and Disney Princess, Elsa.

The challenge

As Red Apple Farm expanded its events programming, managing bookings manually became a growing challenge - especially for Winter Lights, which brought in over 7,000 visitors last year. With just one person overseeing the admin for the winter event, the team needed a solution that could reduce admin, support smooth check-in, and help guests manage their own bookings.

The farm also needed a ticketing platform versatile enough to support very different events throughout the year, from weekday school tours to high-volume festivals. Their audience - primarily young families - expected a seamless, mobile-friendly purchase and arrival experience. And with significant upsell potential via food, drink, and attractions, improving the digital journey had direct revenue implications.

The farm also uses customer self-serve tools, allowing guests to reschedule their tickets up to a day before the event without needing staff support. This has been particularly useful for busy periods and group bookings.

To streamline entry for large crowds, Loryn also adopted handheld scanners recommended by Beyonk, which she described as “fantastic” for easing check-in. These tools helped her run Winter Lights independently while still delivering a professional experience for thousands of guests.

The results

Cart abandonment dropped to just 28%, significantly below industry averages, while the average guest rating rose to 9.46 out of 10. The team achieved a Net Promoter Score of 84.5%, highlighting strong visitor satisfaction.
